Dynasty politics in India

It’s surprising that in a country of over 1.2 billion people we have just one family that has produced 3 PMs and 4 presidents of a national party(which hardly faces any strong opposition from other parties at center). Most part of the 64 years of independent India has been ruled directly or indirectly by a single family. This is dynasty politics. Though democracy exits, making sure that power is held within a family is dynasty politics. This is the new variant of monarchy. This dynasty politics is also seen in some states of India.

Dynasty politics is a threat to democracy. The sole purpose of democracy will be lost if dynasty politics prevails. This kind of politics is not even illegal in constitution and can’t be questioned. But the solution to this problem also lies in democracy. People should not vote to parties which are controlled by families. Only the voters can bring down the dynasty politics in the country.
